Coming up soon in the City near you:

Wikis Take Manhattan is a scavenger hunt and free content photography
contest aimed at illustrating Wikipedia and StreetsWiki articles
covering sites and street features in Manhattan and across the five
boroughs of New York City. The event is based on last year’s Wikipedia
Takes Manhattan, and has evolved to include StreetsWiki this year as
well.
The hunt will take place Saturday, September 27th from 1:00pm to
6:30pm, followed by prizes and celebration.  You can start from the
Columbia sundial–see site for details:

1L? Interested in science, technology, or intellectual property? Feeling a little lost in the sea of journals, class selection, and the upcoming EIP/job hunt?

2L/3L? Want to share some information, chat, and have a drink on someone else’s tab?

The Society for Law, Science, and Technology (SLST) will be hosting an info session/happy hour this coming Monday, April 14th, 5-7p, at Radio Perfecto. Drinks and snacks are on us, and 2Ls and 3Ls from relevant journals and classes will be available to chat about:

  • journals: Sci. & Tech. Law Review, Law and Arts, and others
  • classes: IP, telecoms, e-commerce, etc.
  • faculty: should you RA? for whom?
  • EIP: hard and soft IP, New York, the Bay Area, etc.
  • SLST next year: available leadership positions and ideas for events you would like to see

See you there!

This event is sponsored in part by the Student Senate with funds from the Student Activity Fee.

Our information law friends at NYU are continuing their reading group this semester.  I speak for no less than 3/4 of the current active membership of SLST when I say that we really enjoy the discussions and hospitality whenever we make it downtown.  Next Wednesday, 1/23, at 6:30 p.m. in Golding West, the group will meet as a non-reading group to talk about summer jobs.  If you’re interested, subscribe to the NYU infolaw list; if you want to go to a meeting with other CLS folk, ask around on slst-soni.

Are there any events, speakers, or topics you’d like SLST to put on, invite, or address this semester? E-mail the e-board any time, but especially before our budget request is due at the end of the first week of classes.
