Coming up soon in the City near you:
Wikis Take Manhattan is a scavenger hunt and free content photography
contest aimed at illustrating Wikipedia and StreetsWiki articles
covering sites and street features in Manhattan and across the five
boroughs of New York City. The event is based on last year’s Wikipedia
Takes Manhattan, and has evolved to include StreetsWiki this year as
well.
The hunt will take place Saturday, September 27th from 1:00pm to
6:30pm, followed by prizes and celebration. You can start from the

The Museum canceled their August event, but the old information was posted anyway. The event has been rescheduled for September 26th. In the meantime, we’ll be having a Rock Band event on September 5th as part of the Blawk Party.

The Society for Law, Science, and Technology (SLST) will be hosting an info session/happy hour this coming Monday, April 14th, 5-7p, at Radio Perfecto. Drinks and snacks are on us, and 2Ls and 3Ls from relevant journals and classes will be available to chat about:
- journals: Sci. & Tech. Law Review, Law and Arts, and others
- classes: IP, telecoms, e-commerce, etc.
- faculty: should you RA? for whom?
- EIP: hard and soft IP, New York, the Bay Area, etc.
- SLST next year: available leadership positions and ideas for events you would like to see

IP & VC : Identifying Issues for the Nascent Innovator

Three panelists - a lawyer, a client, and a venture capitalist- will join us to discuss IP in early phase startups and online services.
On Tuesday (4/1) at 6:30, in conjunction with NYU’s ILI student group, we’ll be hosting the InfoLaw Reading Group, discussing government transparency. Light food will be served with drinks/socializing afterwards. Join our email list for notification of the location.

The Kernochan Center for Law, Media and the Arts will be hosting a number of lunches this spring for those interested in intellectual property.
The first event will be a discussion of “User-Generated Content Principles, Filtering & Fair Use.” Speakers will include Jeffrey Cunard, Debevoise & Plimpton and John Palfrey, Harvard Law School. The event will be on January 22, 12:10-1:00pm in JG 101.
The second event will be a discussion of “The Visual Artists Rights Act (VARA), Site-Specific Art and other Recent Controversies.” Speakers will include Richard Altman, Esq. and Scott Lewis, Anderson & Kreiger. The event will be on Tuesday, January 29, 12:10-1:00pm in JG 101.

Intellectual Property Practitioners Panel
November 13th, 6:30–8:30 p.m., JG 105
Attorneys from Sonnenschein, Kenyon & Kenyon, Covington & Burling, and Dewey & LeBoeuf are coming to talk about their intellectual property practice. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to listen and ask questions. The panel ends at 7:30 and is followed by a reception, which will include refreshments, beer, wine, and hors d’oeuvres.
